Malaysia Working Days Calculator
Calculate Business Days by State Accurately
Count the working days between two dates in any Malaysian state, skipping weekends and public holidays.
When a holiday falls on the weekly rest day (Sunday, or Friday in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu), the next working day is a holiday instead. These are worked out by that rule and may change if the government announces otherwise.
How the working days are counted
Only the days your business is open are counted. We leave out:
- National public holidays observed across Malaysia, such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Merdeka Day.
- State public holidays observed only in your state, such as the Sultan's birthday, Thaipusam or Hari Gawai.
- Replacement holidays (cuti ganti): the working day after a holiday that falls on your state's rest day. You can switch these off.
- Your state's weekend: Friday and Saturday in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, Saturday and Sunday everywhere else.
Holidays follow the official list announced by the Cabinet for 2025, 2026 and 2027. Need the date that is a number of working days away instead? Use the Add Working Days calculator.
